Okie dokie. I have finished Laurell K. Hamilton's The Killing Dance, and MaryJanice Davidson's Undead and Unwed and Undead and Unemployed. Before that I have finished reading Kim Harrison's For A Few Demons More. What can I say? I will start with Anita Blake.
Huh...I guess it's okay. I think its good that Anita is scared, like the rest of other heroines, but now she's got the power to control the undead since its her specialty. But this makes her powerful, and I guess that is too much for me. I am rooting for Jean-Claude and he is digging a place in her heart, though not as deep as our furry pacifist Richard, though he did change a bit there. I don't like this series as much as Cassandra Palmer or The Hollows, maybe because the heroine is becoming super, though this opens my mind. Anita is scared of the supernatural because they are 'super' and I don't like Anita because she is becoming like them. She is losing her 'humanity' by becoming stronger than humans. I guess I am afraid of her, just as she doesn't like and is scared of the undead and every other not 'human' being. I got to be more open now, I guess. I will continue and see how she will develop though I have heard some rumors...
MaryJanice Davidson *sigh* again we have a super duper heroine "whose loyalty can be bought by designer shoes." This heroine is fresh. Betsy is the vampire queen who can bear crosses *gasp* and she only gags even when you push her to the holy water pool, and is very vain. It is annoying, but I think she grows up on the second book and takes care of her responsibilities. Her moments with Sinclair are entertaining. No matter how annoying she may be, and her complete disregard to stay dead even when stabbed through the heart with a stake, I think I will love reading about her. Just hope the queen will stay with her king because there is a competition...I think.
As for For A Few Demons More, the intro is sluggish but gets more interesting as we progress. The ending was heart wrenching that left me wanting for the next book. (on which I put a hold on in the library) I like Kisten, but for some reason I love Trent. For the first time I love species that is not fanged, but has pointy ears. Though he was a bastard in this book, I still root for him. I heard that Al will come back, and I hope to read more about that demon. Good luck Rachel!
Now I have read Keri Arthur's Bound to Shadows, and I was happy with the ending I am sorry Riley! And I can't wait for Moon Sworn, I believe.
Now on my shelf I have to read Burnt Offering by LKH, Bitter Night by Diana Pharaoh Francis (fingers crossed for a hot vamp or mage) and Karen Marie Moning's To Tame A Highlander Warrior. The only reason I am reading this series is to see if I can get a clue about our Barrons from her Fever series. *fans herself* Can't wait for the next book. Right, so this is the end.
